Topic: change aspect ratio while resizing

How can i change aspect ratio of uploaded pictures.
The upload.format allows me to change size, but it keeps aspect ratio. I need both square thumbnail and extra wide banner version of the same picture.

Could you explain why you would need that. We don't have it since I don't think anyone would want oddly scaled imaged? Like a squared photo would look horrible if you scaled that into some banner form.
