Installation instructions for Joomla 1.5.14

Installing MCImageManager is pretty easy if you have some basic programming/configuration skills.


MCImageManager requires the following to be pre installed on your web server.

  • Apache 1.3+, IIS 4 or other web server capable of running PHP
  • PHP 4.3+ script language used by the MCImageManager.
  • Joomla 1.5.14 Joomla CMS System.

Installation steps

  1. Unpack the MCImageManager zip file to the <joomla install dir>/plugins/editors/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/imagemanager
  2. Change the authenticator config option in imagemanager/config.php to JoomlaAuthenticator
  3. Login to the Joomla Administration and open Extensions -> Plugin Manager -> Editor - TinyMCE 2.0
  4. Change plugin parameter Functionality to Extended.
  5. Add imagemanager to advanced options "Custom plugin".
  6. Add insertimage to advanced options "Custom button".
  7. Change/add the JoomlaAuthenticator.valid_types regexp option in imagemanager/config.php if you need other groups than Super Administator and Administrator to have access. Default is: /administrator/i
